"Brick walls are there for a reason. They are not there to keep us out; they are there for us to prove how badly we want something."

I am sad to say that I have made the tough decision to return home to Australia. I've been in the U.S. for almost three months and unfortunately things haven't exactly gone as planned.
For the past 6 weeks, I have been living out of my suitcase without being able to establish permanent accommodation. I have also not had a car which has made getting around extremely difficult. Last week I purchased a cheap car and went through all the steps required in Florida to get it on the road. After giving it a good service and driving it around town for afternoon, it broke down. I took it into a mechanic to have a look; the repair work needed is minor but still costly in the labour required to fix it. It is getting fixed, but only so I may re-sell the car and recover some of my losses.
I have reached a point where the costs required to stay here and potentially compete in some events over the next couple months is more than I can comfortably afford, and given I have not practiced much over the past 5 weeks (due to transport issues) it would be an expensive gamble.
As disappointed as I am, I am also very humbled and thankful to be given the opportunity to come to the United States. But this is most certainly not the end. I plan to return within the next 12-18 months, armed with the knowledge and experience from my time spent here helping me to do things better.
Upon returning to Brisbane, I will continue to work on my golf game with Chris Gibson and prepare to compete in the Mining Town Series in North Queensland in May/June. I will also find some part time work to help save for my return to the U.S.
Below is a picture that I recently found with a great quotation. Making it to the US PGA Tour is going to take time, perseverence, hard work and patience, so I look at the last three months as a great learning experience and the first step to reaching my goals.
