About Josh Marris
Josh
is currently a PGA Trainee Professional based at Royal Queensland Golf Club.
Originally a junior member of the Bundaberg and Bargara golf clubs, Josh made his move to Brisbane with the help of PGA Member Chris Rutherford. Chris and Josh first met when both were involved in the QGU Advanced Training squad. From here, Chris offered Josh a position at the Noosa Springs Resort and when Chris became Head Professional at Royal Queensland Golf Club, Josh made the move to Brisbane to work with Chris and develop his skills to one day become a Golf Professional.
In March 2010, Josh was named 2009 Queensland PGA Trainee of the Year. This award was the result of excellent grades with his academic assignments, finishing 8th in the QLD Order of Merit, placing in the Top 50 of the National Rankings, and for being a recipient of the 2009 Titleist-FootJoy Excellence in Education Scholarship of which he also won in 2008. Combined with this was the successful organisation of one of the biggest Monday Trainee Events in the country, with a professional prize purse higher than most events and raising $5000 for the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter Service.
Josh enjoys a relationship with the Acushnet Company, playing Titleist clubs and ball and wearing FootJoy shoes and gloves.
